Chelation Therapy

What Is Chelation Therapy?

Chelation Therapy is the intravenous administration of the synthetic amino acid EDTA, Ethylene Diamine Tetra-Acetic Acid, along with nutritional factors, to improve your circulation and remove and excrete toxic minerals from your body. This is done totally on an outpatient basis at NeoGENESIS.

EDTA is a safe, effective substance approved by the FDA for lead poisoning. EDTA is still used for lead poisoning--or to remove excessive amounts of aluminium, cadmium, arsenic--just to name a few toxic minerals.

What's It Used For?

Chelation therapy has proven highly effective in cases of cardiovascular disease. Here's why. Blocked blood vessels are clogged up with "cholesterol deposits," called plaque, but these "deposits" are glued into place by a form of calcium and iron.

EDTA, when circulating in your blood, removes this form of calcium "glue," allowing the "cholesterol deposit" to dissolve gradually, opening your arteries improving blood flow to the various organs--including the liver, kidneys, heart and brain--allowing a more normal, generous flow of blood throughout the 40,000 miles of your circulatory system.

Chelation therapy, therefore, promotes health by eliminating the major cause of arterial blockage. EDTA removes toxic metal irritants, allowing the irritated blood vessel linings to heal. Plaques are reduced, allowing more blood to flow. Arterial walls become softer and more flexible from Chelation Therapy, permitting easier expansion, a benefit to people with high blood pressure.

Chelation Therapy is also found useful in cases of arthritis and diabetes.

Is Chelation Therapy Safe?

Hundreds of thousands of patients have received Chelation Therapy during the last 30 years. No death has been attributed to this therapy, when administered by a physician fully trained in  the procedure.  The physicians at NeoGENESIS have 18 years of experience in the safe administration of Chelation Therapy.

The same cannot be said of bypass operations, which have well documented, although low, death rates--rates which vary from hospital to hospital and doctor to doctor.

Minor side effects are possible with Chelation Therapy, but easy to manage. These include mild pain, headache and fatigue. Usually, these side effects disappear after a few treatments and, best of all, most patients have no side effects at all.

Hundreds of carefully-controlled, scientific studies have been done worldwide, proving the effectiveness of Chelation Therapy.

In fact, the federal medical insurance plan in Germany requires the use of Chelation Therapy before it will consider authorizing angioplasty or bypass surgery.

Can I Have Chelation After Bypass?

While Chelation Therapy is most often used to bypass a bypass operation, many of our patients have had one or more bypass operations-- without lasting success or even any improvement. These patients can benefit from Chelation Therapy.

Chelation Therapy can be used with blood thinners, blood vessel dilators, blood pressure and heart arrhythmia medicines, calcium blockers and beta blockers.

What Does This Cost?

Far less than the $45,000 to $60,000 required for bypass surgery, which replaces only a few heart arteries.

Usually, patients receive about 40 Chelation treatments on an outpatient basis at NeoGENESIS at a total cost of only $110 per three hour treatment to improve the circulation throughout their entire bodies, not just a few inches of arteries around the heart.

Typically, you would receive a total of 40 treatments--two treatments per week--and each one would take approximately three hours.

Some doctors charge 25% more per treatment for Chelation Therapy, while others "water down" the treatments, decreasing the value and usefulness to the patient. Some doctors do not follow The American College for Advancement of Medicine's (ACAM) rigorous protocols for administration of Chelation Therapy.  The physicians at NeoGENESIS do.

Can My Doctor Provide Chelation Therapy?

Legally, any licensed physician can do this. However, physicians should be trained in Chelation Therapy by the American College for Advancement of Medicine (ACAM).

NeoGENESIS physicians are trained by ACAM, and follow ACAM's formal procedures for the administration of Chelation Therapy. It is extremely wise and much safer for you to use an ACAM trained and experienced Chelation physician.
